Everton vs Sporting League Europe

Sporting lost 2-1 yesterday in England with Everton, but left open the round of League Europe.
The goal of Miguel Veloso didn't prevent defeat. Gave, however, encouragement for the second leg. Yannick was the key to the revival.

With Matias Fernandez in start eleven, Carvalhal has foregone a striker and has chosen to populate the midfield's area, where Pedro Mendes and Miguel Veloso returned doubled efforts.
The result was immediate and positive. The Lions managed to peace and to open up to have the game.

In a defensive posture where were pointed only three errors in the first half, Carvalhal's team added something that hadn't yet seen his consulate: a football of environment, supported, planned and defined in terms of attacking.

With Matías as pivot of attack, and Izmailov to be the drive that broke through more times, the Lions managed to get controlling the game's pace and a calming Everton who seemed pleased with the melody.

The patience of the British during the initial 45 minutes earned them a few scares, but would eventually bear fruit. Lions fall short in defining some passes in the core and was one of those ball recoveries, together with a positioning accuracy of Abel, that Everton took the lead.

Sporting didn't accused the touch, keeping the same posture, but lacked speed in the last third, to create imbalances.
They did that Matías, Liedson and Izmailov. The left of the English defense, especially the Russian created problems and left the mark of the ball in the post before the break, giving good indications for the second time.

Pure deception, because it couldn't have been worse restart. An error of Patricio gave the second to Everton, who had shown signs of coming with speed.

It took more time to react to Sporting, and only with the entry of Yanncik and Saleiro, a time when Matias was already out of the game, could go back and create territorial domain.

Yannick got to be a headache for the "toffees" defenses which, in successive moments, felt pressured.

Although didn't soar the quality of the game, the Lions were more comfortable, increasing the speed and showing greater objectivity in the attack on goal.
In one of these bids of pressure, Liedson won a penalty converted by Veloso, goal that leaves the door of the eighth-finals ajar to Sporting.
