Europe Liga: Sporting Braga defeated in Sweden and outside League Europe

Sporting Braga fell yesterday in the third pre-round of Europe league, dismissing prematurely from European competition, losing by 2-0 in the stronghold of Swedish Elfsborg in the second "hand" played in Boras.

After losting home by 2-1, the portuguese "arsenal" team was already loosing at break by 2-0, bothe goals by James Keene, at 16 and 32 minutes.

Sporting de Braga, under the command of Domingos Paciencia is thus unable to repeat the excellent European campaigns of last three seasons in the UEFA Cup: went allways trough group phase, reaching the "eighths" in 2006/2007 and 2008 / 2009 and 16th-finals in 2007/2008.


Even today, Paços de Ferreira, was also defeated, ahead of the Israeli Bnei Yehuda, at the stronghold loaned by Vitória Guimarães, and thus is also away from Europe League.

Benfica and Nacional enter directly in the play-offs of League Europe with draw scheduled for Friday, while Sporting have reserved seat at groups phase in case of falling out in the
"play-offs" to Champions League.
