Portugal disputes headquarters in South Africa with Brazil and Mexico
Portuguese national team should prepare for participation in the 2010 World Cup in Portugal, but has not yet set the location where it will be installed in South Africa, which must be decided by FIFA.
Is that in addition to Portugal, also Brazil and Mexico chose the same place: the Golf Club Randpark, situated in northern Johannesburg.
This morning, Agostinho Oliveira said that "in principle, the stage will be in Portugal, but the choice of "headquarters" in South Africa "is dependent on a decision by FIFA."
According to Agostinho Oliveira, the governing body of world football, has to take a decision, "because there were other selections of the group that chose the same place." Carlos Queiroz assistant didn't indicate the location chosen for the stage in Portugal, but acknowledged it would be good if "players sleep at higher altitude."
Portugal is part of group G and will debut in the 2010 World Cup, on June 15 against the Ivory Coast. A 21, the "Quinas team" is facing the North Korea and four days later, playing with Brazil.
The World Cup 2010 is the first to be held in Africa and runs between 11 June and 11 July.
