Sporting: Pongolle is the new hiring
Sinama Pongolle is Carvalhal's slipper third gift, after the hiring of Mexer and Joao Pereira. French striker arrives at Alvalade from Atletico Madrid, where he failed to succeed after two successful seasons at Huelva's service.
This player, a native of Reunion Island, was formed in one of the best football schools in France, Le Havre.
Has had a successful start career at age 17, when was elected the best player in the sub-17 world cup and made the leap to Liverpool at 19 years, but wasn't happy (was holder with Gérard Houllier, but lost his place to Morientes) being transferred by loan to Huelva, where he stood in his first season, and then was hired by 4 million.
The season after, Benfica offered for him 7 million, but Ath.Madrid won the race to the player,and eventually payed 10 million euros, club where after he was hidden by Aguero and Forlan.
Enters now Sporting for 6 million euro..
