F. C. Porto will help victims of Madeira in a game with the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo

The F. C. Porto will play a game in support of people of Madeira, facing a mixed selection of players from Nacional and Maritimo, reinforced with Cristiano Ronaldo, who has already secured his willingness to participate.

The challenge of solidarity doesn't have yet any date or location, but was hited directly by Porto's president Pinto da Costa with Miguel Sousa, member of the municipal assembly of Madeira's regional government.

Real Madrids playmaker, world's best player in 2008, confirmed his presence to FcPorto leader, said the "blue-white"s director of communication , Rui Cerqueira.

Before answering the questions about the 5-1 victory over Sporting Braga, the coach spoke of "immediate association with sadness" to the people of the autonomous region, as well as Ruben Micael, Porto's player who comes from Madeira.

"At FC Porto we associated immediately the sadness that he has as a football player, but primarily as Madeira one. We join with the pain of all the locals," said J. Ferreira, who, at the request of Ruben Micael, appeared at the conference press with the flag of his homeland.

Before the 20th matchday challenge, the teams kept a minute's silence with the same flag placed in center of the pitch, as much of the 46 403 fans in the stands clapped.

The storm that strucked on Saturday Madeira caused 42 deads, 120 injureds, about 250 homeless and a wave of destruction on the archipelago south coast.
