Sapunaru meets punishment in Romania

The six months suspension that the Disciplinary Commission imposed to Sapunaru will be met in Romania.
Contrary to what has run publicly, the output of a punished athlete in a league, for another foreign championship does not release the player's suspension.

Victor Becalli, athlete's agent, said the release of punishment is in the hands of the appeal to the Councel of Justice Court.
"Sapunaru can't play in Romania," he said. "He will meet the four months of punishment that are lacking in Rapid Bucharest. FC Porto will appeal and hope that the punishment is reduced. "

The rules of FIFA's transfers imposes, moreover, the suspension's implementation to a foreign league.
"Any disciplinary suspension imposed on a player before a transfer must be applied by the new federation in which the player is registered," as wrote in Article 12.

It should be remembered the player, was preventively suspended while waiting for the definitive punishment, before the transfer was made.
"The former federation is required to notify the new federation of the sanction in writing, at the time of the ITC's [International Certificate] issuance," concludes.

Sapunaru, moreover, hasn't yet made his debut for Rapid Bucharest, where he moved in late January. At least for now, confirms his manager, can't do that.

The same goes for Hulk, in fact. Even if the Brazilian would leave to a country with the transfers window open (Russia, for example) couldn't play.
