Zheng Zhi is the biggest figure of Chinese selection

Midfielder Zheng Zhi is currently the leading figure in the Chinese selection of football, which Wednesday faces Portugal, a meeting to prepare for the 2010 World Cup, evidence for which that team missed the Asian qualifying.

Zheng Zhi shares with Hao Junmin (Schalke 04) the role in the Chinese selection, which occupies a modest 87th place in the ranking FIFA.
At age 29, Zheng, who was "captain" of China in 2008' Beijing Olympics, will wear for the 50th time the Chinese selection sweater, in the match against Portugal, in Coimbra, and has until now scored 12 goals for his team.

The midfielder signed for Celtic Glasgow this season, having been already used in 12 meetings, but failed to score any goal at service the "Catholics", by which couln't play in League Europe, once his inscription was not done in time .

The "leap" for Europe was given after scoring 29 goals in 2006, serving the Shandong Luneng, which earned him the award for best player in the Chinese League, tittle had received in 2002, too.
Internationally, Zheng Zhi was the only player of third division to play for the under-23 national team, before representing the main assembly.
