Carlos Queiroz confident for the World Cup
Portugal manager, Carlos Queiroz, is aware of the World Cup first round's hardness, facing Brazil, Ivory Coast and North Korea.
The coach, however, remains confident for the duels.
"Portugal is a favorite to win each game we play in the tournament. Although,the major candidates to the semifinals are teams like Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Spain, Germany or England. For now, our final is the first game" , said in an interview to the Portuguese Football Federation's site.
Queiroz analyzed also his group's National teams and showed that he is aware of the difficulties.
"Brazil is the FIFA top ranked , is the country with the most World Championships titles and is a favorite to regain the trophy. The Ivory Coast is considered the strongest team in Africa and one wich will go further in the competition .
As Portugal has also recognized ambitions, one of these teams will not reach the knockout stage with some surprise.
Not forgetting North Korea, which has on their side the advantage of some misunderstanding surrounding his selection, beyond the fact that is preparing intensively for the World Cup, with a stage that began in January," said Queiros.
Portugal's debut in World Cup will hapen on June 15th against Ivory Coast, in Port Elizabeth.
