Côte d'Ivoire: Ex-coach denounces 'internal rifts'

Ivory Coast's former coach, Vahid Halilhodžić launches the alert. The group is not a team but a group of players, in the coach opinion, which will greatly hinder the task of his successor, the Swede Sven-Goran Eriksson.

"I would say the team has great players but is not a great team. Some players don't even want to play together. My job was to rise above that, to ensure that everything goes the better ", said the coach, speaking to Ivorian newspaper "Le Patriote ".

Halilhodžić left Ivory Coast command after the early elimination, at the last African Nations Cup, where the team fell by the hands of Algeria.
A defeat that the coach believes to have come for a good cause. "It came to lay bare the internal divisions that the team had " he says.

Thus, Portugal's opponents in the next World Cup, will still have a long way to go, believing in the coach words.
Halilhodžić doesn't believe a solution to the problem. "I had three or four months to heal the wound between the players and it was possible. A new coach will not get it, because he only has 20 days to prepare for the World Cup", he recalled, alluding to the period of preparation stage.
