Paulo Sergio Sporting's next coach

Sporting Lisbon announced on Tuesday the signing of Portuguese Paulo Sergio to take over as first team coach after the resignation of Carlos Carvalhal.

Fourth in the Portuguese league with 44 points - 33 less than the leading Benfica - and with no chance of even getting a spot in the Champions League, Sporting decided to promote exchanges in command after the team's victory yesterday in Lisbon, to the Vitoria Setubal for 2-1.

The contract of Paulo Sergio, according to the direction the club is valid for two seasons starting in the year second half, and may be renewed for a third.

The 42 years old coach, now in Vitoria Guimaraes( League's fifth),  stood out in 2008 to bring the Paços de Ferreira to the 2008' Portugal Cup final, when was defeated by Porto.
