Villas-Boas will not be Sporting's coach
The coach of Sporting's football team next season will not be André Villas-Boas, reported today, Monday, the club to the Committee on Securities Market.
"Following the newspapers speculation that has been about who will succeed Carlos Carvalhal, as coach of the professional team, the Sporting SAD hereby informs the market that the current Academica's coach Andre Villas-Boas, will not be Sporting's coach the 2010/11 season," can be read in the statement.
According to some media, Andre Villas-Boas was to occupy Sporting's coach post next season, succeeding Carlos Carvalhal, whose contract expires at the seasons end, having Alvalade club announced that it wouldn't renew the bond.
