Wages arrears in Varzim
The Varzim squad convened a press conference to publicize the "dramatic moment" that players go through, due to wage arrears.
In the presence of all players, the coaching staff, and the sporting director, team's captain Pedro Santos read a statement about the three and a half months of salary arrears.
"We live in an untenable situation and we are extremely worried. It's three weeks to the end of the season, and are to receive 40 percent of December and the wages of January, February and March... knowing that it is mid-April and May comes around," complained.
"Every Sunday we had gave our best and we will continue to do so, for our character, professionalism and love for the club. But the lack of money and no prospects for a solution are limiting, in an extraordinary way, our work " he continued.
Pedro Santos called for the issue to be resolved: "Never forget that, above the professionalism of a football player, is the man. This group of men calls to those eligible, to assist us in this dramatic moment in which we live."
Lopes de Castro, club's president, for now has refused to comment on the situation.
