Fernando Santos leaves PAOK

The Portuguese football coach of PAOK Thessaloniki, Fernando Santos, who secured the club's first qualification for the Champions League, although for the third qualifying round, announced today the abandonment of office for personal reasons.

The former coach of FC Porto, Sporting and Benfica, among others, aged 55, said at a press conference that had made the decision two months ago and that he seems to be "exhausted."

"I decided that at this point, it is not my interest, nor of PAOK, that I continue," he said, adding an apology "to all who supported my continuity."

Fernando Santos called the past three years at the Greek club as "very demanding," arguing that he became aware of not being "able to maintain a kind of commitment to 100 percent."

Luso coach also dismissed the news that take him for granted in the rival Olympiacos, or in place of the German and Greece's picker Otto Rehhagel , wich is out of office after the 2010' World Cup in South Africa .
