Herminio Loureiro denounces coercion to referees

The outgoing president of the Portuguese Football League, Herminio Loureiro, met with the national director of the Judicial Police(PJ), to report the threats and coercion that four referees suffered during the past eight months.

Today it was reported that the PJ has accused nine young supporters of "a club from Lisbon", in the first football league, of suspected of insults, threats and coercion, to four professional soccer referees, during the past eight months.

A League source said the Lusa that has registered "with satisfaction that a meeting requested by Herminio Loureiro to the national director of PJ, on the subject, is working," adding that the League has given full support to the participation made by the arbitrators.
