Benfica-Braga postponed to December 12, due to the NATO Summit.
The match Benfica vs Sporting de Braga, to the Portugal Cup of football, scheduled for November 20, was postponed to December 12 due to the dates coincidence with NATO Summit in Lisbon, reported today the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF ).
"The basis for this decision was an information that the National Police of Public Security sent this Friday, by fax, to the Portuguese Football Federation, according to which the coincidence of dates between this meeting and NATO Summit advised against the completion of the game", reads the statement of the FPF.
According to the federation, the National Directorate of PSP argued that the match of Cup of Portugal´s fourth round has the character of "High Risk", which requires "the use of a very substantial number of police officers", and underlined that day's "strong road restrictions which will undoubtedly shape the access of the supporters to Stadium of Light", depending on the days of NATO summit, at 19 and 20 November.
