Benfica vs Liverpool without Saviola

The Argentinian striker Javier Saviola is the great low to clash this Thursday evening, between Benfica and Liverpool, the League Europe's first leg of quarter-finals.

Benfica's coach, Jorge Jesus, announced this morning his squad for the match, with Saviola,( who on Wednesday had only done gym work) getting out of the options.

The player, who has been one of Benficas core players during the season - pairing with Cardozo in the attack - had already been at risk for the game with Braga (in which he played), due to injury.

Regarding last Saturday's game for the league, coach Jorge Jesus made out of the squad goalkeeper Quim ( in League Europe the goalkeeper is usually Julio Cesar ) Cesar Peixoto, Eder Luis and Saviola.
Also returning are Moreira and Brazilian midfielder Felipe Menezes.

The match between Benfica and Liverpool will start from 20:05 in the stadium of Light, under the arbitration of Swede Jonas Eriksson.(Watch Live here)

- Defenders: Maxi Pereira, Luisão, David Luiz and Sidnei.

- Midfielders: Airton, Javi Garcia, Ramires, Carlos Martins, Ruben Amorim, Fábio Coentrão, Pablo Aimar, Di Maria and Felipe Menezes.

- Forwards: Cardozo, Nuno Gomes and Alan Kardec.
