Benfica and Sporting aggravated damages, FCP ensures profits

Benfica, Sporting Lisbon and FcPorto closed the first nine months of this season with mixed results.

Benfica closed the period with losses of 22.8 million euros, compared with the negative result of 18.4 million from the same period the previous season. The liability of the reds now stands at 310 million euros.

Similarly, Sporting' SAD revealed today that ended the first nine months with losses of 14.8 million Euros, claiming to be a number "expected in view the sporting performances."
In the same period last year, the losses were around 6.7 million euros.

In the same document, Sporting advises that their liability has worsened to 144 million during the first nine months of 2009/2010 season.

But the FC Porto reported a profit worth 10.7 million euros, although the early months of the previous season, the Port had made losses of 6.37 million.

FcPorto's SAD justifies the result with "the club's sporting success and the recognized ability to value their assets."
In the same period, the liabilities increased to EUR 152 million, over the same period of the previous season.
