Benfica announces sale of Fabio Coentrao for 30 million euros

Benfica and Real Madrid reached today a preliminary agreement for the transfer of the Portuguese international footballer Fabio Coentrao for the Spanish club, for 30 million euros, anounced the Portuguese emblem .

The announcement was made in a statement to the stock-market Committee , in which Benfica reports that the transfer agreement will be formalized once the athlete has complete all medical examinations to which he will submit, and agree the conclusion of an employment contract with the Real Madrid.

In the statement, Benfica just do not clarify whether the Argentine central defender Garay, is involved or not in the business of Coentrão's transfer .

The 30 million euros correspond the termination clause value of Fabio Coentrao.
Since it is known the interest from Real Madrid, Benfica has always said would not leave the player for lower values.

Sources close to the process said the 23 years-older left winger must sign a bond for five seasons.

This is the fifth signing for the team led by Jose Mourinho after Sahin Altintip, Callejón and Varano.
