Sporting refused to sell Izmailov

Sporting anounced has rejected a proposalto sell the pass of Russian Marat Izmailov, to Lokomotiv Moscow.

"Sporting SAD informes having received an offer from FC Lokomotiv for the immediate transfer of the player Marat Izmailov, and that after a short period of negotiations was rejected the possibility of transfer, beeing considered unsuitable the proposed conditions by the Russian club, given the value of that sport player", explained Alvalade's club, in a statement sent to the Securities Market Committee.

Sporting didn't disclosed the amount proposed by Lokomotiv, but sports press reported on a proposal of around five to six million.

Lokomotiv Moscow was precisely the team from where Izmailov moved to Sporting, first by loan(mid-season 2007/08), then definitely by 4.5 million euros.

Izmailov, 27, has a contract with Sporting until 2013, having recently recovered from an injury that kept him offside in first months of this season.
