Carlsberg Cup: Rout to Sporting puts Benfica in the finals

Benfica beated Sporting 4-1 in the semi-finals of Portuguese League Cup.
The opponent for final scheduled for March 20, will only be known on Wednesday, after FC Porto-Académica.( online live stream will be available at 20.15GMT!)

Sporting ran out a player after just 7 minutes. Joao Pereira saw a straight red, due to an entry on Ramires, who left the Brazilian on the floor.

The next minute David Luiz opened the scoring. Following the free-kick caused by Joao Pereira's foul, Carlos Martins puted the ball in Sporting's penalty area, and the central defender headed the first post and made the night's first goal.

Ramires signed the second goal of the night. Cesar Peixoto crossed to the small area, where the Brazilian midfielder appeared between Sporting's defenses that didn't avoid him to finalized.

At 36 minutes, Liedson tilt the outcome. The 'lighty-one' taxed two defenders and fired the networks of Benfica, giving no chance to defend Julio Cesar.

In the second half, the 'Eagles' have two more goals. Luisão made the last Brazilian goal of the night on 67 minutes when headed for the networks , following the marking of a corner kick charged by Carlos Martins.
Cardozo closed the scoring by finishing the game, late in the fourth minute off added time.
'Tacuara' shot from outside the area with his left foot, the ball flew Rui Patricio and entered again Sporting's goal.

With this victory, Benfica comes direct to the final of the League Cup, which is scheduled for March 20 at the Algarve Stadium.
